Synchiropus splendidus
The
Green Mandarinfish, Synchiropus splendidus, is a
carnivore! Like all dragonettes, they mostly eat pods. Some
people have luck getting theirs to eat prepared foods, but I haven't so
far. Unless you have a ton of live rock and lots and lots of pods
chances are your mandarin will starve. I have both of the
requirements and mine still looks skinny. Reef safe, but not for the beginner.
Update: It took 2.5 months for mine to die of starvation.
