Freckles' Story

Freckles was born on the 4th of July, 2007. Her mom was a stray tort that decided to have her kittens in Alisha's parents' backyard. She and her littermates weren't doing so well, so we decided to seperate her from her mother. After some meds, and a lot of KMR, Freckles is doing super! None of her littermates made it. She weighed almost nothing when we took her in at about 3 weeks of age. I am going to keep track of her progress here.

8-8-07: A little over a month old, Freckles weighs 484g today. She is still "suckling" her food and doesn't kow how to drink water yet, but she is using a litter box.

8-17 She weighs 570g today. Freckles is learning to eat dry kitten food and she has begun drinking water from a bowl.

8-26 Freckles weighs 764g today. She had to have a second visit to the vet. Her URI came back and she had a fever of 103. Different antibiotics and a cortizone eye cream were prescribed. She is doing MUCH better after a week of this treatment. She is eating mostly dry Eukanuba kitten food now. She also can go find her litter box when she is in other areas of the house. Although, she does still have the occasional accident in a stray box or behind a desk...
